About
My name is Sam Strzyga - I'm a photographer, occasional model, horror fan, and dark fashion enthusiast.
As someone with endometriosis and chronic fatigue, it's sometimes difficult to even contemplate clothing, never mind put together an outfit that's comfortable and representative of who I am. I can't often wear things that feel too tight or restrictive. Studio Strzyga grew out of my personal frustration with my body, and a way to try and take back control by using creativity as a distraction from pain.
The foundation of the brand is the oversized t-shirt. I'm a huge fan of this style, but I hate stiff fabric and thick prints. I also hate ultra-cheap and disposable fast fashion. So my t-shirts are ethically sourced, 100% cotton, with a lightweight drape, vintage wash, and discharge prints that are almost imperceptible to the touch. It's a sensory dream!
When I set out to add accessories to the shop, I knew I wanted to make statement pieces - I love layering my jewellery, but sometimes lack the energy, and reach for larger chains to quickly dress up an outfit. My necklace chains are welded 316l marine grade stainless steel sourced in England - chunky and sturdy, cut by hand, finished with stainless steel jump rings and fasteners. My pendant designs are laser-cut acrylic.
Everything is shipped from my tiny studio in Sheffield, UK, going out to all the badass alt folks worldwide.
